Does it work for more than one property?
The free version covers a single property. Upgrading to Pro unlocks unlimited properties — each with its own unique list of tasks and cost history.
Is there a limit on how many tasks I can add?
The free version allows you to manage up to 10 tasks with unlimited recurrences of those tasks. Pro removes the cap entirely, so you can add as many recurring or one-off tasks as you need.
Which platforms is it available on?
Rootsie is only available on iOS.
Where does my data live?
By default, on your device. Rootsie is local-first and needs no account for the core experience. If you turn on household sharing, your data is then synced to our servers so it can be shared with the people you invite.
What information do you collect?
If you stay offline, none — Rootsie collects zero information and your data stays entirely on your device. Household sharing is optional: turn it on and your data syncs to our servers (you sign in with Apple) so you can share it. Either way we never ask for your name or email, and we never sell your data or track you across other apps.
Is there a notification system?
Rootsie sends gentle, opt-in reminders for tasks coming due. No streaks, no badges, no anxious noise — just a quiet nudge when something needs attention.
Can I track what each task cost?
Yes. When you complete a task you can log the cost. Rootsie keeps a running ledger per property, useful at tax time, for resale records, or just to see where the money goes.
Can I share a home with someone else?
Yes. Household sharing (part of Pro) lets you invite the people you live with into a shared home so you can manage it together. It uses Sign in with Apple and syncs that data to our servers. One thing to know: once household sharing is on it can’t be switched back off, so turn it on when you’re ready.
How much does it cost?
Rootsie is free to download and use for one property with a starter set of tasks. Pro is a one-time $20 in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited properties and unlimited tasks — no subscription, ever.
